Hi, I’m maggie Ju!

I'm a product designer and a student at UCLA majoring in Design Media Arts and Cognitive Science.

Curious about how people think, feel, and behave, I’m drawn to the “why” behind every interaction. My process is rooted in deep user understanding — not just to solve problems, but to create digital experiences that feel thoughtful, delightful, and useful.

How my journey started…

I’ve been immersed in visual arts since I was five, which shaped my love for aesthetics and storytelling. For a long time, I thought I’d become a graphic designer or fine artist or teacher — until I discovered product design. Talking to users, solving real problems, and bringing ideas to life using design tools felt like a new kind of creative magic.

My experiences

My experience spans web and mobile, B2B and B2C — from AI tools to fintech apps to scalable design systems. I love exploring new fields and designing with both craft and context in mind. No matter the space, I bring a user-centered mindset and a deep desire to keep learning and growing.

Outside of work, you can find me:

Building design community at UCLA!

As Internal Vice President of Product Space — UCLA’s premier product and tech organization — I lead initiatives that support students breaking into tech. I help plan and execute professional events like product career panels, AI x Healthcare case competitions, and speaker sessions. I also lead recruitment and community-building efforts to foster a supportive, inclusive space for aspiring technologists.

As External Vice President of Innovative Design — UCLA’s first student-run design agency — I lead efforts to grow our partnerships and community. I organize our annual one-day design conference for 100+ students. I also help source and manage pro-bono client projects each quarter, and support team leads across design, photography, and marketing. Beyond operations, I focus on building an inclusive space where students can collaborate and grow together.
