CONTEXT

How might we help homeowners understand and track the current condition of their home?

AlgoAce is a B2C iOS app designed to help students and early-career software engineers practice coding problems and build communication skills for technical interviews.

As a product designer, I led UX design from 0→1, and collaborated cross-functionally with engineers to create a playful, gamified learning experience. Our MVP is scheduled to launch on the App Store during beginning of 2026.

SageSure, a $980M insurance-tech enterprise, needed a way to help homeowners understand and maintain their properties, as 77% experienced major issues they didn’t realize until damage or inspection flagged it. Many users only addressed problems once something broke and felt intimidated by electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

To solve this, I designed and launched a consumer mobile app that transformed complex home assessments into clear, actionable insights.

TAKEAWAYS

Good design reduces cognitive load.

User interviews showed that electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems felt intimidating. By simplifying data-heavy dashboards into clear and actionable insights, I helped homeowners feel more in control of their home repairs and maintenance.

Balancing user value with business goals creates sustainability.

By aligning the app’s functionality with SageSure’s insurance priorities, I created a product that not only helped homeowners but also strengthened long-term retention and trust.

Clear communication turns ideas into impact.

By proactively sharing user insights, wireframes, and prototypes, I aligned the team around feedback — ensuring every decision shaped a product that was both intuitive for users and strategic for the business.

GRADITUDE ♥︎

Thank you to my manager, my design mentor, the Home Services team, and my intern project group for such a rewarding summer! I’m really grateful for the chance to work across both UX research and design, and for the mentorship that helped me grow my product design skills. Excited to see how SageSure continues to innovate in the future!
